Tuesday’s Snow

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty decent snowstorm.  Most area’s received between 3-5 inches, but some spots did get more or less depending on the location.  Click here to see the most recent snowfall totals (there is usually a map at the top but as of now it isn’t working correctly).

The center of the low pressure system did end up tracking closer to Michigan than any of the models forecasted.  Even the Tuesday morning model runs didn’t forecast the low pressure system getting as close as it did.  The end result was a couple extra inches of snow.  Below is the track of the low pressure system from its beginning in northeast Oklahoma to when it phased with another system earlier this morning.

The next potential snow will come on Saturday from a clipper system.  As of now it looks like only a couple inches can be expected, but the forecasted track has been changing slightly to the north or south with each passing model run, so totals will need to be adjusted when it gets closer.  I’ll blog about it in the next day or two.
